Meditation & Mindfulness

Meditation is a practice that can be traced back thousands of years. It is an approach to training the mind, similar to the way that physical exercise is an approach to training the body. The goal of meditation is to focus and calm the mind, and ultimately develop inner peace.

There are many different types of meditation, and each has its unique benefits. However, all forms of meditation share some common effects, such as reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep, and increasing compassion and self-awareness.

In addition to the many benefits of mindfulness, the practice can also help you to live more fully in the present moment. Mindfulness is a form of present-centered awareness that allows you to notice and be aware of your thoughts, feelings, and sensations in the present moment without judgment.

Mindfulness is a way of living that emphasizes present-moment awareness. It is a quality that we all have the potential to cultivate, and it involves paying attention to our thoughts, feelings, and surroundings in a non-judgmental way. When you are living mindfully, you do not dwell on the past or worry about the future. You are fully present in the here and now.

Things meditation can help you with:
  • - ease anxiety
  • - control your emotions
  • - improve overall health
  • - reduce depression

Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your meditation practice:
  • 1. Choose a comfortable place to sit or lie down. You may want to use a pillow or blanket to support your body.
  • 2. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
  • 3. Focus your attention on your breath. Notice the sensation of your breath as it enters and exits your body.
  • 4. Whenever your mind wanders, gently bring your attention back to your breath.
  • 5. Continue for 5-10 minutes, or longer if you like.

In today's fast-paced and stressful world, many seek alternative methods for relaxation and personal growth. Have you ever stopped and considered the energy you consume daily? What is eat and drink is just the tip of the iceberg. What are you watching on TV? Listening to on the radio? What about the people you surround yourself with? The attitude you seem to spend most of your time in? The words you use?

All of these things make up who you are, what level you vibrate at, and how you engage with the world. In today's fast-paced, hyperconnected world, it's easy to get caught up in the constant barrage of information and distractions. Many of us find ourselves mindlessly going through the motions, not fully present or aware of the choices we are making. But what if there was a way to live more consciously, to be fully present and aware of the energy we put into our body, mind, and spirit?

Mindfulness and conscious living offer a path towards a more intentional and fulfilling life. In these classes, we will explore the benefits of mindfulness, the importance of being present and aware, and how to cultivate a non-judgmental mindset. Join me and discover the transformative power of mindfulness and conscious living.
